Our mission is to be a healing hand towards poverty in the Dominican Republic. Like many other countries in the region, the Dominican Republic remains marked by persistent socio-economic inequality: there is a big divide between the rich and the poor. Close to one-third of the population in the Dominican Republic lives below the poverty line. With a thriving population of 10.65 million people, this means about 3.25 million are hungry in the Dominican Republic. Needless to say that the sick, the elderly, and children living under these circumstances, suffer the most. Fundación Tia Tago is determined to lend a helping hand with food, clothing, medicine, and so on, to the forgotten elderly community; to the ill- especially those with cancer; and to any child that is currently living under deprivation.
